The commissioning committee invites you to be a part of history — contribute and celebrate the commissioning of USS Indiana SSN 789.
For a state to have a namesake Navy vessel is an immense honor, but for the great state of Indiana, this is our fourth. The first ship named Indiana in nearly a lifetime, the USS Indiana (SSN 789) is a proud representative of America’s heartland.
A commissioning is a ceremonial joining of a ship and her namesake. Our committee seeks to give the Indiana a grand send off as she joins the world’s most powerful Navy and takes her place among the fleet. Funding is necessary in providing a financial means to conduct a proper commissioning of the ship and to build a strong relationship with the crew and demonstrate true Hoosier Hospitality.
Join us in honoring the USS Indiana and her crew — this is your chance to become an honorary plankholder on the newest named ship recognizing the rich military heritage of Hoosier State.
